Woah! Bryan is a friend of Martha and I, I never heard of this?!? I was just over at his place about a month ago? Where did you hear this? (aside from the N&O)

I guess I will see if the shop doors are open on the way home. Very very sad. Storm

Thanks again for the call Dwight, I agree. I did pass the message on to Martha. It is very upsetting, there are so many people who are jerks and should not be alive.. (hohoho) But, this guy was a genuine person who loved motorcycles, his family, and friends. Why do the kind hearted people who hit a low point in life have to go? Reminds me of a "it's a wonderful life". When you think life sucks and everybody hates you, people are suprised (and for some who never find out) to find that people do love and appreciate you. I'm sorry that this message was not relayed to him in his hardship. Very very very sad. Storm

Your welcome. guess we never really know the "DEAMONS" that people wrestle with and just how bad it really is for someone,When on the outside they appear to be just fine and doing well. VERY VERY SAD NEWS! indeedSad

I never knew Bryan on a personal level, but I used to see him around the shop, and down at Myrtle Bike week. He talked to me like he had known me for years. He seemed to love his work. He was always a nice guy, and ran a good business. Everyone who knew him liked him...we should all be so lucky.

    Saluda, NC

I was just watching the news and they were talking about this little town in SW NC called Saluda, NC.  Little old railroad town, nothing to see there basically.  Sounds perfect for an extended weekend kind of road trip.  Y'all look it up (Saluda) and let me know what you think.  About a 5 hour ride out there from this area.  The story was on the Tarheel Traveler part of the news...  they'll probably update it tomorrow here so you can see the story online:

Anyone up for trying to keep up with a Harley on a road trip?  Stick out tongue

Sounds good to me.  Looks like Saluda and Asheville are less than an hour apart from each other.   Might be a little too cold around Xmas time for Kim to want to ride but she might want to tag along in the truck which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing (having a truck along for the ride).  Hmmmm....  I'll let Kim chime in here... Smile

    Re: Saluda, NC

Everyone come through the storms okay last night?

At one time, the tornado was 8 miles away from us and moving at 50 miles an hour. At least that's what it said on the TV this morning at 3:30AM'ish. We went over to mom and dads. Looks like at least two people were killed in Kenly and Elm City. Sad

I signed us up for 'Weather Call' on WRAL's website. It'll call you if there is a tornado warning in your immediate area, based on the address you key in. It's free and I think a valuable resource. I usually wake up at night if a storm hits but that one time that you don't could be your last! You can also opt for severe thunderstorm warnings if you wish to get them. Just thought I'd pass it along. I know it'll give me a little more piece of mind when I go to sleep at night and there's a storm coming. Oh, and once you sign up you can test it to make sure it works too. Smile

We slept through the storms last night.  Didn't even realize there were any storms in the area until I woke up shortly after 4am (as usual) and heard some pretty heavy rain outside.  I came downstairs and found out we were under a tornado watch until 8am.  We never saw much at all here.  Dwight, as far as I know the ride is on for tomorrow.  Nobody's contacted me to tell me any differently.  I plan on being at the biker church in Angier somewhere around 12:45-ish.  I think this is going to be a pretty chilly ride.  Smile  If it looks like it's going to rain, I'm not going for the ride.  They already have a rain date set so I think they'll cancel it if it rains but the forecast for now looks nice.

    Back from the ride

Got home about 10 minutes ago.  Made really good time.  Hit the blistering speed of 92 mph on one of the backroads.  Thanks for the tips on how to get back home quick, Dwight.  The ride today was fun but wow...  those guys are SLOW with a capital "S."  Oh well, it wasn't a race and nobody got hurt.  It's Miller Time.  Stick out tongue
