    Re: Don't Get Metzeler Tires

I have the METZ tires on the front and back. The front tire is holding pretty good. BUT, the back tire I have to put one on about every year. I just figured it was because i ride like a bat outta hell.(my 400 lb. butt don't help either.)

    Paddle faster! I hear banjos.

Way to resurect an ancient thread.Yes

I have almost 9,000 miles on my ME880 240 on the rear. Very, very fine line of chicken strip on one side, zero on the other but almost flat as a board in the center. definitely time to replace, just waiting for a day I can get time to get some smokey burnout pics to kill it. The replacement is sitting in the garage. The front Metzler looks great after 2,000 miles.

The meek shall inherit the Earth, but for now it's ours!

    Jeremiah:

Tread wear isnt everthing.  I switched to the METZ after I toasted the Stock Dunlop...  Never looked back, and I'll never try anything else.

Also the Bigger radius on the back end allows to you lean waaaay over in the curves...  You trade sticky for tread wear with these...

I'd rather re-up on tires more frequently than ride around with a brick $Hit house on the back wheel that slips around...

It wasn't Duff's fault in drudging up a long dead and forgotten post, we can blame Jeremiah for giving us this little nugget of wisdom some more screentime.

There is a trade-off to being crippled, you get the best parking, but the limping really sucks.
My wife calls me "Ol' 2-stroke," but I've never owned a 2-stroke bike in my life, I can't figure out where she gets that from. Hmmmm?
