Do you guys think a novice with almost no mechanical experience on their Warrior could pull this mod off?

Woody has a reputation for being willing and able to help by PM's and even sometimes on the phone.  Plus there are plenty of members with VBAK experience.  With some basic tools, if you match-mark everything, and use the service manual to identify parts before removing them, then it's very do-able and rewarding to hear that powerful suction as air jumps down the venturi's.

Take the instructions woody sends. Follow them exactly put a check mark beside each step when completed and you will be fine.

    Re: V-BAK kits UPDATED 9-25-08

Alright guys, I'm pretty able when it comes to mechanics but still need a few questions answered and would like to see a before and after pic if able. Okay my 08 is completely stock and like everyone the first thing I want gone is the stock pipe. Can I do everything in steps without seriously hurting performance? I plan on getting my Bigshots first and then getting the PCIII second and then the Churh's Vbak third. What steps do I have to complete since I'm not doing everything at once since I can't afford all at once. What do the letters AIS stand for and what does this puppy do. Thanks guys

fj55pig, IMO you should be able to do your mods in steps but the bike will run a little off with just the pipes due to it being tuned from the factory for the stock exhaust, but nothing detrimental

    1) Pipes

    2) PCIII

    3) V-Bak

That is essentially the similar to the route I took except I saved up and did the pipes and PCIII at the same time.  Currently running the PCIII with a stock map (with my Hard Chrome American Classics) I have tried a few maps (big shots, rineharts, and samson street sweepers - all downloaded free off the PCIII site).  Can't find a map specifically for my pipes, so tried a few for similar sized pipes (with the exception of the big shots which are longer that my hard chromes).  Stock map makes it run funky especially on decel so probably going to try the street sweeper map next.  I've got a V-bak on order so once that's in, I may experiment with some other maps, or just get the bike dyno'd

Here's my post asking similar questions: http://rswarrior.com/forums/t/118550.aspx?PageIndex=1

My recommendation would be to do the PCIII and pipes at the same time.

Also in case your curious the pipe and PCIII install were a piece of cake, just follow the instructions, I was a little hesitant to tackle them both but knocked them out in an afternoon in my driveway.

Also AIS is Air Induction System (basically it is a peice of smog equipment)  I still have mine on - on the fence as to whether or not to get rid of it.  Also when it comes time to pick up a PCIII try fuelmotousa.com - I got mine out the door for $260 + tax and shipping (by comparison Dennis Kirk is $330) .

    Good luck

That's pretty much what we have all done.  Mods in steps.  Just changing pipes will not require a map change, but will help.  You won't really need it till you get the Big Air.  By doing the pcIII 2nd, you'll be ready for the big air kit.  My next step is cam's and port and polished heads.  Hopefully I can get to it this winter.  Then I'll be done with engine mods. lol.

NorCalWarrior, and Dice Hey guys thanks for the quick info. I'm taking it all in and I'm sure that this will help others with similar questions as me. Well I'll likely still get the pipes first and then save for the PCIII and VBak at the same time. Thanks again

I have the Hard Krome American classics- did the AIS removal. It runs a little smoother( less popping). I dont have a VBAK, or fuel processor( bumped ecu a few points on both jugs).  It runs really good so far.  I dont think I will go with the PC3, because I dont have a computer at home to tune it.

Saving for Chruchkeys VBAK.  Cant wait for the power gains, but I have been cut off, from the money, until after Christmas.  Too bad,  Free shipping would be great.
