Re: How do I get boot rubber off the chrome exhaust?

Just cleaned mine from a ride last weekend.  Synthetic shootstrings melted right to the pipe.  Once I got back to town and the bike was cooling down I took a very sharp razor blade and lightly scraped it away while it was still warm.  Followed that up with some enamel reducer to remove what was left.  Worked like a charm.

I was a little nervous about using a razor blade so I tried an old abs/plastic  electrical outlet cover plate and it all came off perfectly.

First line of instructions that comes with parts should read:
"Reassembeling bike after mod's requires great peace off mind!!!"

    Thats a good one Stevo.

Razor blade works fine, also very fine steel wool will take it off with no marks.

Just use "Easy Off" spray on oven cleaner, it works better than anything else and there is virtually no chance of you scratching your chrome.  Just spray it on the area, let it soak for about 15 - 20 minutes, repeat if necessary.  I use it all the time and it leaves the pipes looking like new with a nice shine.
