    Air cover replacement alterative?

Is there a place that can laser cut a design into the existing air cover on the right?

I had a VTX 1800c and the laser cut air cover I had for it, let a ton of more air into the system intake\big change, without a bunch of noise.

IMO the air cover is rather a large item on the right side and hides the motor..i would much like to get rid of it for something a bit smaller..

Or is there an inexpensive (cheap) way to replace what is there with something custom made or store bought.

I was thinking of pulling the air cover all together and placing some K&N filter on mouth where the existing air cleaner plugs into\using some type of car type filter cover.

I do not want to lose the air box, it is a cold air induction system..so if there is a way to keep it and get more air into it.. without going to a VBAK system, I can use the money somewhere else.

I did read some where someone gutted the exiting filters , and used UNI replacement filter foam, said he did get good results..

Any one else here did a mod to the air system without losing the cold air box under the tank?

Speedstar (yamaha part) intake with K&N filters. For what your talking about, that's what I'd do. Smaller intake on the right side and the K&N's will free up the air for the box under the tank.

Do the VBAK from Churchkey then buy the scoop if your concerned about cosmetics. You will like the smile every time you roll on the throttle

K&N filter ----> RU-2790. Works pretty slick. Costs about $30 from any auto parts store.

Yeah..thats what i am talking about...then i can make some custom cover for that..
I am going get that small V-shield from a victory bike that has the "EFI" on it and cover the filter with it..
