Kosman Specialties widened the wheel. I gave them a call last Thursday, 12/28, to ask a few questions and to see how long I'd need to leave my wheel there so I could figure out my down time. I wasn't expecting to have this project done this soon, but when they said that they have a few in stock ready to go and if I wanted, I could just swap mine out with one that was all ready to go, I decided the time was perfect for a 240. I told them I'd be there tomorrow, and before the new year had begun, my 240 was mounted and test ran.
I had KC Engineering in SF, Ca remove my bearings and reinstall them in my Kosman wheel and they gave me an awesome deal on my Dunlop Elite 3 240, $136 mounted. So after I got the wheel, I went back to KC Engineering and dropped off my wheel so they could mount the 240. If traffic hadn't been so bad coming back, I probably could have had it that same day.
Saturday, I picked up the wheel and tire, went home and mounted them to the swing arm to check where I needed to remove material from the arm. So I marked it off, took it all apart, and had at it. I used a 4 1/2" angle grinder. I was really surprised that I didn't have to remove much. I'm not sure if it's because the Dunlop isn't as large as the Metzler 240, or what, but I didn't have to take much off. I referenced Brazeau Racing's post on his DIY 240, as well as JPWarrior's How-to he sent me, and I didn't remove as much material as they had.
Sunday, I put everything back together to go over to all my riding buddies' places. That said, I am still in the fitment stage but I can fit a nickel and dime between the tire & swing arm. If I need to remove more material, I will.
Now that I've done it, I'm mad at myself for not doing it sooner and I must admit, I've got a grin on my face that I haven't had since I first got my Warrior. Seeing so many awesome wide tired Warriors on this forum was what inspired me to get my Warrior when I did... I'd always wanted one. Now I finally have my wide tired Warrior! [^]
