    Deuce Sissybar - Taller Version

I opted for the taller bar (approx 2") so that I could locate the mounting bracket closer to the passenger pillion, cover the (2) HD mounting screw holes and not have the short back rest (51534-00) interfere with the pillion on my 2004 Warrior. Including several jpegs of the installation. The bottom screw in the last photo is not functional, it just covers the hole. The mounting kit 51144-02 comes with a plastic adhesive medallion to cover the hole. It has a HD insignia and I choose not to use it!!!!!
Like other members that have done this modification I paid particular attention to the fender sheet metal and used 3/32" neoprene and closed cell foam rubber when attaching bracket. The bracket has more integrity when mounted closer to the pillion on the 2004+. The rubber pads on the bottom of the pillion will sit on top of the HD mounting bracket counteracting forces to the backrest IMHO.

It looks like original-equiptment. Funny it took HD to make one though.

It looks good, although I'd be very careful about who I let lean back on that--and how much weight they put on it. If it gets much of a rearward load (i.e. a hard launch with a heavier passenger onboard), it will dig straight into your fender at that corner.

It might be worthwhile to bend it forward just a bit and weld some supports on the outside edge from the verticle part down as far as the seat will allow on the horizontal part.

Looks good. Does it have any flex to it when you lean back?

Your fender will be damaged, no question.

Re: Deuce Sissybar - Taller Version

As stated in my original post: Like other members that have done this modification I paid particular attention to the fender sheet metal and used 3/32" neoprene and closed cell foam rubber when attaching the Deuce bracket. The load is being distributed evenly to the fender via the rubber mat'l. Over torquing of the two mounting bolts would damage the fender so i built up the rigid neoprene in that area so it acts as a bushing. I ride one up and the sole purpose of the sissy bar is to properly attach my cycle luggage. I wanted to maintain a clean look without obstructing the fender stays which are currently Yami chrome.
Regarding deflection....none....the bracket is formed from 1/4" steel and has various compound bends that enhance its strength.
The bracket definitely has more integrity when mounted closer to the pillion on the 2004+ Warrior. The rubber pads on the bottom of the Yamaha pillion will sit on top of the HD mounting bracket counteracting forces to the backrest.

LOOKS GREAT. LOVE THE HEIGHT. I WOULD BE A LITTLE SKETCHY ABOUT WHO WAS RIDING BACK THERE AND
HOW I RODE WITH A PASSENGER ON IT, BUT THE LOOK IS DEFINATELY AESTHETICALLY PLEASING
