    Need brake line info

planning to change out the front and rear brake lines and clutch cable with clear covered stainless lines.

The rear brake line is no problem.. but the front comes in either ONE or TWO piece setup...

What is the general consensus on which is better? Seems like the dual line would provide more uniform braking pressure...

What type lines are best? Goodridge? Galfer?

What, exactly, will I need to order for the two line front setup? New banjo bolts for the M/C?

I'm sorta lost on what I need.. so any direction would be great!

i ordered 2 piece front lines from spiegler. they were GREAT to deal with, easy deal, fair price. just tell them its for a warrior, and how long you want them to be. i measured my length with some fairly stiff wire, then confirmed it with them for reasonablness. they have the added length banjo bolt.http://www.spieglerusa.com/

i would make a set of custom lines with a single hose running from the master cylinder to the right front brake caliper, then using a double banjo bolt make a single short hose going from the right caliper up over the fender to the left caliper and keep things simple and clean.

All parts needed will come with brake line kits.

Darkstar is correct. I just got a Galfer set. The front is a full length double line. Both front and rear kits came with chrome banjo bolts. I like the firmer brake feel. Good luck!

Jason, I was thinking about replacing my lines up front as well, but I think I may go a step further than what CMZ is saying an loose one line all together. Just run one rotor up front on the right side to clean it up even more.......

I just did my new lines yesterday, the front is now the dual line from m/c set-up, no splitter under the tree. THe Goodridge set had the dual banjo bolt, looked a bit weird at first, but does the job. Brake feel took some bleeding to return, but seems to be normal. The lines were routed down beside the headlight on the right side, looks real nice. Just have to trim the mount from under the tree.[^]

    Re: Need brake line info

I purchased my parts from Goodridge and made them myself. Two complete lines from the master cylinder. Here's a link to the pohotos I posted this past weekend.

    Re: Need brake line info

Seeing that you have the Yami TT's and don't need custom lines i would suggest you go with the Yamaha BRAIDED STAINLESS STEEL BRAKE LINE or the Russell Cycleflex Cruiser Brake Line Kit mentioned by DarkStar as it will mount exactly like stock to the lower tree and fender supports very neatly Cake
Here's a Galfer Custom +1 1/2" 3pc SS in black mounted to my bike. Notice how bulky the 'Tee' is and the new location. Right photo is from bigbear2592 and is the 2pc Goodridge Braided Stainless Steel high performance front brake line kit and it's routing

    Re: Need brake line info

Got a chrome t fitting and made a bracket and installed it under the lower triple tree and and two 12" SS lines to calipers. Looks clean. Sorry, no pics.

    Re: Need brake line info

I got an aftermarket set (I'm pretty sure they're Galfer) That runs just like the stock set up did, single to the tree, split to the individual calipers. Nice and clean works good. I've done it twice now and I can't beleive how easy the brakes are to bleed on this bike.

    Re: Need brake line info

This thread is about brake lines so:
I have the phats forwards on my bike and would like to get a new brake line for the rear but I don't know what length to order. Anyone already do this and knows the length.
    Thanks

Exactly what I did, wish I had a good pic of it. I used readymade an3 hose, banjo fittings screw on to the end of the hose. Nothing to it, and WAY less $$ than the kits.
