    Flasher?

What is the easiest way to access the flasher. I need to replace the flasher with a load equalizer to regulate the speed of the turn signals. It doesnt look like you can access it under the seat.

    dave,
you do not need to get to the flasher to put on a load equalizer, you can get at all of the turn signal wires under the seat. under the ecu. there is a white connector with 5 wires, (brown, green, yellow, blue, black (all with green stripes)) you need to hook your equalizer to the green and brown wires (these are the turn signals) and a ground. there are other ones there too, these were just the easiest ones for me to use.

otoh, if you are going to change your flasher, you just need to start digging straight down on the right side under the seat, a real pita, and if you do change the flasher, you will loose the auto cancelling stuff. an equalizer is a better solution.

OK, maybe a dumb question, do these bikes have auto cancelling turn sigs, cuz if they do, mine is broken? What is the auto cancelling stuff #$%^&

    Re: Flasher?

MilwDave.... no need to disturb the flasher at all! The LEQ can be connected to the wiring under the ECU. Follow the rear fender wiring to an Opaque 6~Pin (5-wire) plug and i suggest you tap into the female plug wiring so you can remove the fender if req'd in the future.

Here's some photos of how i just rewired mine since going full LED's Frt & Rear with a Signal Dynamics LEQ. Prior to this mod the LEQ (Kuryakyn 4810) was strapped to the Yami inner fender support bracket

    [

I branched into the turn signal wiring with a mechanical & soldered joint. Added 3~dual female connectors for future use or testing. Installed male snap connectors to the LEQ [;)]

I swapped out my turn signals and hand controls with aftermarkets. The controls for the turn signals are momentary switches; they only stay on as long as you hold the button down. I now need to get modules to convert them to on-off switches. I got one for the headlight hi-low beam, cost me $70. Ouch.

    dberman,
i am certain these guys have modules that will turn your switches into the proper signals. i believe that a couple of people on the site have used badlands stuff to control their switches, maybe one of them will chime in.

    Re: Flasher?

shivaman... yup ... the Warrior has auto canceling signals Cake That's what makes the Flasher unit special and also because of the turn signal switch. Check the electrical schematic!

The turn signal circuit interfaces with the speed sensor feed back to the ECU. When the bike is in motion for a set period of time & minimum speed the time delay circuit in the Denso flasher unit will cancel the turn signal Wink

If you installed a Run/Brake/Turn device it's possible that you created the situation [:0]

Too much cutting and splicing there, I just replaced mine with a load equalizing heavy duty unit from Autozone....easy.
Just have to remember to turn signals off manually.

    Re: Flasher?

So it sounds to me what your saying is that the turn sigs will turn off eventually but not right away after turning. I think I would have noticed if they would cancel right after the turn was complete when I got my 2007 and it was stock but I didn't. So is that what your saying...that they will go off after a while.

    Re: Flasher?

Thanks Alen, I will give this a try. I guess from having my VTX and getting used to canceling them I just self cancel them now and don't give it a try, especially for 15 seconds and 490 feet.
