    k&n filter numbers

ok here is some filter numbers from my k&n catalog for people wanting to diy there bak/vbak and lcv and cc breathers.
    for lcv/cc k&n #62-1000 2"od x 1-1/2"h 3/8" nipple fits inside 3/8" hose.
here is a few air filter options:
    1-3/4"id x 3"base x 2"top x 2-1/2filter length part #ru2690
    1-7/8"id x 3"base x 2"top x 2"filter length part #rc2550
    1-7/8"id x 3"base x 2"top x 3"filter length part #rc1090
1-7/8"id x 3"base x 2"top x 3-11/16filter length part #rc1290 (this filter has a 10 degree angled flange this is the filter used by the king of all vbak's)
    2"id x 3-1/8base x 2"top x 3"filter length part #rc2580
these are the sizes that i thought would work in most all cases they have alot of other sizes available. these are all tapered filters with 5/8" flange length (where the clamp goes) except the rc1290 which has a 1"flange due to the angle.
i hope this will help some of us out with what filter to use questions[;)]. oh ya the ru part #s are rubber end caps, the rc part #s have chrome end caps.

Cool, is there a specific set of filters recommended to use as a 'kit' and how do the air filters connect to the intakes?

The K&N RC-1290 & Autozone Spectre #3998 filters before & after install connected to the Mikuni throttle bodies by Advance Auto Parts radiator hose #38244 70680 & Menard's all stainless USA made contractor 10 pack of 1&3/4" to 2&3/4" hose clamps. The Menard's plastic 3/8" to 3/8" & 1/2" to 3/8" couplers in the plumbing area mate the CC & LCV Spectre filters to the hose.

arizona, i only posted the spec's and part #'s as a guide so other members could go to the parts store or online and know what to order. i am sure you could use any pair or combo.
i used the rc1290's and dynomax part #42310 2" stainless "J" pipe 2 short pieces fo 2" radiator hose and 2 clamps. with the "J" pipe you can cut both stacks from one piece for $12-$15. use the radiator hose and clamps to connect the stacks to the t-bodies, a little sand paper and some mothers metal polish they will shine like a mirror[:D].
i used the 62-1000's for the cc and lcv because they push into the hose so no extra adapters are needed. 3/8 vacuum hose will push right over the nipples its snug but with a firm push it will fit.
you should be able to get all of these items at any good parts store for under $100.
anyway thats what i did and the part #'s i used i hope i havent stepped on any toes with this post. busaman's pic gives you the idea of what it will look like.

Here's a little FYI you can get K&N FIlters from Advanced Auto Parts next day in most cases. I buy K&N oil filters from them all the time.

    Hello RSWARRIOR,

I have been lurking here since my brother hooked me up with an 04 Warrior he had trouble selling in ALASKA for a pay off of 7200.00. It only had 900 miles when it arrived here in NC this past Nov. I love it. My question about the V back install is it seems it would pull tons of HOT air all trapped up under the tank and on top of the heads has it dynoed out to be the best way to go as far as natural aspiration? Excellent info on this board by the way very talented group?? Thanks Ross

Answer:  A PC-III or PC-V will be needed, plus probably a dynotune.  It is best to also get a sensor relocation plate.  Here are some links to get started.

    Web-Translator:

Un PC-III ou un PC-V sera probablement nécessaire, plus un dynotune. Il est le meilleur d'obtenir également un plat de relocalisation de sonde. Voici quelques liens à obtenir commencés.
