Yup, the the rubbers dampers cause them both to stick to the engine case
Use a small slotted screw driver (tape or wrap the blade) on the clutch cover prying very lightly between the case and cover. The alt cover can be pried from the bottom around the kickstand. This cover has (2) solid dowel pins for aligment to the case, so pry evenly [

] Can also use a plastic tipped hammer as a means of loosening the cover
