Here is a pic of my hidden brake mod by Crown. The workmanship is flawless as is the powdercoat. I also added a Spiegler brake line and removed my brake resevoir. I will add more pics when I get the brake line exactly where I want it, the relocated resevoir, new exhaust in place and the bike back on the ground.
What are those covers on the resivor bracket? id like that... or i was thinking about cutting off the tabs completely... hmm
looks clean, if you still have the factory holes for the brake lines(looks like you do) get a small scrap piece of aluminum and build a bracket for the front brake line hole. It will keep the line in place once you get it perfect and looks clean like a factory item.Good work on the exhaust mount, good option if your not wanting to just cut them off.
I still need to get everything into it's final resting place, but the new brake line beats the heck out of the old one. I just plugged the resevoir bracket holes with plastic push plugs from an auto parts store. I just guessed on the size (3/8 thread hole I think) and the plastic covered the holes perfectly. I do plan on cutting them off at some point, but I will save that for next year maybe!!!
looks good!! did you get just the caliper bracket from crown? also did you have to grind your inner swingarm or modify the brake by taking material off for fitment? looking to do this mod myself...thanks
I did get the mod. from Crown. I did have to take off material for the caliper to fit. Crown has a great highlighted picture of the area you need to remove. It’s around 7 inches in from the axle end of the swingarm to 9 inches in. It only took about 30 minutes to grind and have painted.
Here is a pic of my relocated rear resevoir w/ custom bracket.
It looks great, nice clean look. Who made the reservoir bracket for you?
Well my motto is KISS! I made the bracket from one of the rear brake line brackets. It was the bracket that attached the rear brake line on the frame near where I plugged the holes from the old resevoir bracket. I did a little bending, grinding and painting. Another free mod with take off parts from my various mods! Oh yeah, the new resevoir is from a Yamaha 125 dirtbike. It is much smaller than the original.

Doesn't the resevoir have to be mounted above the level of the master cylinder. Looks low in the picture. If not good hiding place!
My rear brake res is in my forward controls, so I don't think that that is an issue.
Everything looks great!!!
Well done Aaron!
Neat job....... that fits in there just nicely.
There is no problem with it being mounted lower than the old res, because the actual fluid level is higher than the Master cyl.
Also, you can't beat recycling old brackets and stuff!
Hey Jimmy2......It is mounted a tad higher than the master cylinder so I should be ok. I got my exhaust on tonight and just have to tighten down the tips and heat shields. When that is done I am ready to go!

Just askin....but is your rear axle in backwards? ie, looks like you inserted the axle from the brake side, and put the locking nut on the drive side? Is this picture of your rear wheel mounted and all set for riding? or is the axle just in there to hold things in place while you were working?
