    Marco Polo:

Does nobody else find it ironic and funny that the same moderator who locked the topic for it's offensive language is the one who not only provided a link to it for anyone who missed it the first time but also quoted all the things that got it locked in the first place??  Confused  You can't be serious can you?

    Really??

If I didn't want anyone to see it, it would have been moved to where you couldn't see it. We lock things for a reason. So people can see there mistakes and not repeat them. When we move things to places you guys can't see you cry CENSORSHIP!!  When I leave it out there and explain my actions for all to see, I still get grief.

My point of showing this was in response to OldMan's cry of being unfairly treated. I did not start this thread, he did. I just showed how he was not unfairly treated. And you still cry foul.

In fact, in OldMan's original PM to me, he claimed to have no idea that MF could stand for what we all know it stands for.

    OldMan:

You just knew I'd cross that line huh?  Pretty good.  I didn't even think of it until you brought it up. I have been saying MF for My Friend in wire notes and emails since the mid 70s

And then I pointed out the context that he used it in a post previous to that one, and in the same thread, of which he replied,

    OldMan:

You got me with the one in red but I stand by My Friend for bags.

As you can see, by his own admission, he lied about not knowing it's meaning and still complained, publicly about it. But this is all somehow my fault?  You can't be serious can you?

    Go find your conspiracies elsewhere.

Sorry Sang but you're reading more into what I said then is there.  I didn't cry foul, give you grief, or claim anything was your fault (or claim a conspiracy as I see you added!  lol), I simply said it was ironic and funny to me that the language that caused the lock was reposted.  Don't get your frilly little panties in a wad, as far as I'm concerned we all know what MF meant and I'm having no problem with you locking the thread.  I don't think you should have had to answer him about it publically but then again, you don't have even temporary banning permissions so it's not like you have a choice considering if you deleted his thread he would likely just start another one.  The whole thing is amusing, that's all I was saying.

You said it seemed funny and ironic and asked me if I was serious? So from what I read, you were questioning why I did what I did. No where in your original post did you say anything about agreeing with what I did. How else was I supposed to read it?

I agree it shouldn't be a public conversation, but he brought it out here, so I had to answer. I still don't see why that's so "funny" as you call it. But I have never had a problem answering for anything I do here. I strive to always be fair to everyone, even people who post that I wear "frilly little panties". As far as whether or not I can get people removed, don't think for a moment that I can't or that I haven't on more than one occasion over the last 7 years. There are lots of things I can do with this software that you can't. But why would I, for something so trivial as a locked thread and a complaint about it. If we banned people for whining, there would be like 6 people left on this forum.

Like I said, the whole thing is amusing and it seems some others agree.  If you don't agree it's not like it's a problem for anyone.  The only reason I mentioned temporary banning privelages is because that would have been handy to have so that you didn't have to address him publically about the issue and could have just moved his post to be unseen and then kept it all in PMs or done a temp ban if needed (doesn't appear it would have been) until he agreed to discuss it reasonably.  Had you quoted the whole sentance I believe that was obvious.  I never said anything about banning anyone permanently.   Have a beer and lighten up Sang, all anyone is doing is making light of the situation.

We don't ban people and hide posts just for asking us to explain ourselves. Even when they're wrong. We aren't that kind of forum.

And I am lightened up, thanks. Wish I could have a cold one, but I'm up late studying for a A&P test tomorrow, and doing a little forum watching. With school and cold weather, studying and forum sitting is about all I do anymore.

Except for admitting to the flu once, I don't recall ever discussing my life here.  I usually chime in with just enough information to confuse the resident right wing militants. Not that most of them are big on facts, but it's great fun to watch the few who try to refute them flail about frantically trying to reconcile reality with the Sean Hannity power hour. Big Smile
