Thanks Eric! mush appreciated. I think I'm gonna ride out the storm as is with this unit and a LONG ethernet cord back to my hub/router.
BTW....here's what the folks at Dynojet had to say about the power commander software on a Mac;
We only support our software on PC's. I have heard there
are ways to run PC software on a Mac, but I personally have no experience in
this.
Let me know if you have any further
questions.

now some of us now about running things like "parrellels" or other windows simulation type products on the Mac in order to use pc based programs. Also the is the question of a "dual boot" Mac....ie, both windows and Mac OS loaded loaded on differant partitions of the hard drive.
if we haven't heard yet from anyone using a Mac out there today to run the dynojet software maybe some feedback in this thread would be helpful when it comes to buying the Mac or pc.

gchalifo: I'd go Mac! fact, my Dell pavillion media laptop just lost the wireless card. Worse yet i googled the probelm and found that the mother board has a defect which is not really worth repairing. So now I'm stuck hard wired at home. can't even use a pcmcia woreless card...the unit just wont see it.
Go to Ebay search for a replacement Motherboard... Yes your laptop has an issue with the WIFI internal features but can be fixed... you are probably looking at around $120... I would need a complete model # to give you a precise number.... You will still need a reliable Tech to do the install but it's pretty much straight forward.. you might be able to do the install with a lot of patience.
On the other hand I've never received one with your issues that had PCMCIA problems at the same time... maybe I've been lucky.
I can put you in contact with a good tech that will fix most any laptop motherboard but his prices are usually about $92 (if you send him the motherboard removed) plus shipping which for me it's usually about $12. He's never failed me with hard to find Motherbaords... but usually I find Motherboards in good working conditions of ebay for much lower.
