    headlight cowl removal

Im tryin to remove the top cowl by the headlight.  There are some small allen head bolts that i cant get to because the light is in the way.  Anyone know of a way to get to these?  Does the cowl come off by the light some other way.  Any help appreciated.

There are two bolts on the side of the tach housing but there are also 4 bolts inside the head light bucket that secure the tach to the HL bucket.

    I believe thats it.

The headlight is secured to the cowl inside the bucket...remove the two outer ring retaining phillips screws at 4 and 8 o'clock, and you will find 4 mounting bolts inside the bucket, two at the top in 11 and 1 o'clock, and the two lower bolts at 4 and 8 inside...they have 8mm hex heads.  You may have to move the nest of wiring a bit to see/access them. Also, the cowl itself is secured by the 4 top bolts near the top tree...don't forget them before you start pulling at the housing. you'll also have to unplug the red, blue and white sockets for the various tach/speedo/lighting wires too, before you can actuially remove the bucket. Hope this helps...if you get stuck, we're here to help. Wink

Alan, thanks for posting that pic...the lower mount bolts were at 5 and 7 o'clock, not 4 and 8 as I'd previously posted....thanx for correcting that!
