Big city Thunder Baffles & other ?'s

My Warrior has Samson Shortys with no baffles. I was thinking about getting the Thunder Monster Baffles instead of the Samson ones. What is your take on the Thunder Baffles?

Does anyone know of custom levers for the Warrior other than the wide style. I have seen some cool ones for Harley and Honda but none for our bikes. Can I get the Honda VTX levers to work?

Samson does not recommend there baffles unles you cut them in at half.

BCT baffles make big difference in performance off the line.

Are you saying that Samson says to cut their own baffles in half or the BCT baffles? Also do they have good sound? I like the sound of my open pipes but they are just a little to loud(neighbors), and I would like to get the bottom end surge back.

Yeah, Samson recommends to cut the Samson baffles in at least half when inserting them in the warlord pipes because they are designed for their longer pipes.  I had the Samson baffles for my first Warrior.  They did increase the torque (surge) but muffled the sound at both idle and WOT.  The fit is real tight and some pounding is required to get them in.  Once you get them in, you may not be able to get them back out.

The sound with the BCT baffle to me was better but still very loud WOT.

You will find the bottom end surge back with the BCT baffles.  Add a PCIII with the BCT baffles,to have more torque (surge) than stock water heater

If your looking to deaden sound, the big city baffles arn't for you.  I have the big city monster baffles in my samson street sweepers and they took the high notes out of the exhaust so it's less annoying and won't make your ears bleed as much, plus they gave me back a bit of low end torque. But they are still damn loud.  But then again, I didn't buy the baffles to make the pipes quiet.  Motorcycles are sopposed to be loud.

They had a good sound when I cut my baffles down to 4" for my Ground Pounders. Also, it restored the low end torque that you're speaking of. Good performance as well with a properly mapped PCIII.Wink

Did the reversion stop with the BCT baffles? My street sweepers sounded like a jake brake on a big rig when i let off the throttle above 3500rpm.

Hell if they fix that i'll order or build a set next week. Probably build them as i have looked at them on their website and i have a small flanging tool at the shop for stretching the inlet and outlet on mufflers.

Definitely get the BCT baffles, you'll love them! They do all of the things talked about here very well.

    1. They give you some low end power back (it's noticable)!

    2. They give the Samson shorties a better (deeper) tone!

    3. They completely get rid of the jake brake!
