    Tax relief

I have seen the tax relief commercials on TV for quite a while now.  I must admit they piss me off.

Have you not paid your taxes for several years now?  Do you owe massive amounts of $$$ in back taxes, interest and penalties?  Have we got a deal for you. Then you hear the examples where some couple comes on and says they didn't pay their taxes for 3 years, owed $300,000.00  and this firm got it reduced to $4,500.00 or some such.

WTH is going on?  I feel if I have to pay taxes then dammit everyone should have to. Taxes suck, they are too high, but as long as we all get screwed I can live with it.  Why is it legal for some firm to advertise they can help you break the law?  That just doesn't seem right.  Anyone out there know?  I did a search for tax law loop holes and legal ways to get out of paying your share but couldn't find anything.  Are these firms not telling us there secret is filing for bankruptcy or what?

The Lesbians living next door gave me a Timex. I think they misunderstood when I said " I wanna watch. "

    Re: Tax relief

I think these places are negotiating with the IRS and getting them to settle for pennies on the dollar, so that they at least get something. Kind of like a bank settling for what a person can get on a short sale, rather than having them let the house go into foreclosure. I hear the same type of adds for people that more than $10,000 on their credit cards. These companies get the lenders to take a little by convincing them that it is pennies or nothing.

I feel the same way about these guys.  Their commercials run constantly in my gym, and I get really steamed up over the whole, "Oh, you got caught driving drunk?  No problem!" attitude of their pitch.

I'm of the opinion that you should get fines, points, and some jail time for driving around drunk, and these sleezy companies portraying the cops as bad guys and making drunk driving sound like no big deal just drive me batshit.

Ya, we have places like that around here too. Just another example of no one taking responsibility for their actions. There is always someone out there willing to help you get away with something, for the right price.

If you stand there and point the finger at someone else, eventually someone will stand next to you to tell you your right.

I was up to my eye balls in credit cards 5 years ago and I got help from a company, but all they did was conjoin my credit cards to one payment, lowered the interest and charged me 20 bux a month for the service until it was paid off. Took me 3 years and quite a few tax points, but I still paid every penny I owed. It just takes time

Keep in mind that these ads are being run by slimy lawyer types (hope I didn't offend anyone) with no morals and they don't list the fine print until they have some desparate fool hooked.  I am betting that it does not turn out as good as advertised.

Both are examples of the current American mentality. Don't take responsibility for your actions. Let us show you how to be even more irresponsible.

Hey while you are at it lets have Cash for Clunkers so people with no business buying a car can get on the hook for another 5 years possibly ending in repossession.

    Re: Tax relief

I understandy your point...I just saw tax loophole and got all excited. I reread and understand what your saying, and I will always pay my taxes, but what torx me is that I can give the fed 25k a year and my next door neighbor only has to give them 5K. Why do I get punished for bustin my a$$? I don't mean for this to go up into businesses getting tax breaks, but on an individual basis, if I am willing to be away from my home and wife all week, live in a box on an off ramp, not using anything more than my neighbor, then I should be able to get some kinda break... Shat I didn't even qualify for the little extra last year that was handed out...I know why I do this line of work, but sometimes I wonder if I hit my head too many times....
