Ford Motors 1 billion in profit

    http://money.cnn.com/2009/11/02/news/companies/ford_results/index.htm?postversion=2009110207

Ford reports a nearly $1 billion profit

The only U.S. automaker to avoid bankruptcy posts an unexpected profit thanks to a big lift from Cash for Clunkers sales.

    Good Job Ford!! Yes

I'm sure it had some positive finacial boost due to steering purchases away from GM and CRYsler when Ford said "thanks but no thanks" to Government bailout monies.  People had had enough of the big company Bail-Out gifts.  If in the new car buying market, I would have bought a Ford during this time period.  But then again (see sig line below) Big Smile I like my super-duty.

Let's see now how Ford does over the next few years competing with the other two who have the recent luxury of paying down debt with interest free $mega-millions.

I've got two and love them. Three years ago all my vehicles were Japanese. I do still have a Maxima, the nicest one to head out on the highway with with the family in tow. and of course my 02 Warrior.

A friend of mine made a good point. Cash for clunkers should have only applied to the purchase of American vehicles. Kill two birds with one stone.

Ive always wanted a diesel big truck. Thats the only Reason. If I am buying american  it will be a FORD  and nothing else.. Go Dodge,

Actually the front end of the wife's F-350 is just behind the Doodoo Dodge.  The Ford is a 2001 model with the 7.3 L turbo Weasel, 'er I mean Diesel, 4-door Super Duty Dually.  We bought it the same year I got my Warrior, back in '02 I got the Warrior and she got the truck, hers seems to have faired better, but she's not as rough on 'em as I was the Warrior.  That Dodge in the foto, we bought right after we got married, just to have a pick-up.  It's a slant-6 (Leaning Tower of Power) 4-speed with air, I have been all over the east coast in that truck from Florida all the way up to Boston and over as far as Wisconsin.  It's got more miles on it than all of my other vehicles combined and it still runs great, not much to look at but it is functional, it has sadly been regulated to garbage hauling duty now.
