How many inches lower did you set it?

According to the directions, each 1/4 in. longer than the stock dogbones = 1 in. in lowered height. I went with about 3/8 in., so I quess its about 1 3/4 in. lower. Looks lower, but I didn't measure before installation. May have to raise it slightly, it will hit if you  go over a bump or dip too fast. But I rode it 25 miles and it felt OK. I did adjust the shock a little to firm side and could feel a difference in ride quality, stiffer.

It looks good! It also looks alot lower than 1 3/4 inch to me. Do you have to change bearings or anything with the Barons kit? I have read that you should lower the front as well, any plans to do that? I am going to lower the front of mine 3/4 inch by sliding the forks in the clamps unless I can also find a front lowering kit.

I used the contents suppied in the kit, no bearings, just the links and replacement bolt and nut, to fit the links and shaft that goes thru the front end of the shock. Thats it. I'm considering lowering the front too. Right now it kinda rides like a chopper, Easy Rider anyone. I've got risers for the handlebars which raise the bars about 2 in. up and 3 in. back. I've seen frontend lowering kits on e-bay, which is where I got the lowering links, but you have to take the forks apart to install shorter springs, so I'll just slide the forks up an inch or so, though i heard you can also encounter clearance issues with the brake lines hitting the fender.

Does anyone know of a solution to the front brake lines rubbing after a front end lower is done?

I think the actuall issue is that the brake line T which bolts to the under side of the lower triple clamp contacts the front fender under full fork compression. You could move the T-fitting from under the triple clamp, that would gain you about a 1/2" more clearance but the next thing to be aware of is the triple clamp itself contacting the fender. If you crank down the spring compression adjustment on the forks that will help slightly but then your front suspension would be stiffer. You just have to check clearance with any adjustments you make.
