The answer I've been looking for without any luck what should I do to leave the island. I guess the original owner must keep the license plate, if so where should I buy a temp plate, should I buy road insurance, etc if I plan to ride back to Hungary.  Any comments are welcome.

Hi Elek, the licence (registration) plate should stay on the bike not with the original owner and if you intend to keep the bike in hungary you will have to have it register it when you get there (i think you have 12 months to do this). As for insurance you would have to purchase temp insurance for your journey. When you purchase the bike, there is a part on the (V5C) registation document (section 11) notification of permanent export which you will have to fill in and sign. thanks, you helped a lot. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to ride a bike (or drive any vehicle) longer than 30 days without registering the changes (not even I buy anything here) in Hungary. The only difference in the process is that I should pay registration tax first if this is the first registration in Hungary (Ł750-800).

Where can I buy the temp insurance?Is there anything available online?

Regarding the V5C, should I fill that form if I buy from a private seller? How should I imagine it? Is it a sale contract or kind of an ID document?
