    Re: Corbin Stinger seat

By far the best seat that I have ever owned.  It gives just the right amount of back support and I can ride 12 hours in one day and not even feel sore.  In fact I get off the bike feeling great.

There is no way I could ever go back to stock after this seat.  I could hardly ride for 2 hours befor I could not stand it anymore.

Depending on the year of your bike I have one for sale. $200 plus your stock seat. If its not an 02-03 the fender bracket will have to be relocated. 1 hour project.

I have an 08 and I ordered the Stinger yesterday.  Seems like Corbin makes good seats.

Do you just put in in place of the stock seat or is there some kind of bracket you need to install first?

Is it comfortable for the passenger?

It appears that you have an '08 or '09 model and that seat was built to fit the '02-'03 models. You will need to relocate the back seat bracket in order to lock down the back portion of the seat. An easier solution would be to simply remove the back bracket. I have an '05, but put an '02 seat on it. The seat locks in over the battery compartment but is free over the back fender, and there has never been any problems.

The short answer is no. It may be ok for just a short trip but that is about all. The narrowness and the angle of the rear part of the seat don't make for a comfortable passenger. Even the instructions that came with my stinger said that it is not recommended for a passenger.

It should just bolt right on. When I installed one on my '05 I removed the front bracket that holds the stock rear pillon in place since I will never go back to the stock seat again. It can probably stay there if you want to ever go back. Other then that it is a simple swap. When you first try to latch the lock in the front you may have to really push down on the front until it clicks closed. This will get easier with time and after a few uses as the seat wears in.

I think im in the minority here but I think the stinger is ok...not great but ok.  fit and finish are mediocre for the price.  I would say if you could find one used it would prob be worth it but if I had it to do all over again I would not buy a new one

If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the precipitate

    Re: Corbin Stinger seat

I've had the stinger on my warrior for about a month now. I love how it looks, but I really don't think it's anymore comfortable than the stock. The discomfort for me has moved from the butt of the seat to my lower back. I think it's just a little too high. I bought one used so I don't feel too bad about my purchase. I wish it was more comfortable though.
