basic questions,,,, hidden caliper diy mod

reading alot and some people say how hard it was to bleed. Also there is a member doing the mod(crown) to the bracket and I want to get one while my swingarm is off. I am wanting to know exactly what I should buy. I see people have done it several ways as pioners in all the threads I've read. So just wanting to get the easiest most cost effective way. I know I need the modified bracket but at that point alot of different things came up, like angled banjo fittings, new lines, just running the line over the top and not having problems, some people unable to bleed properly etc. sorry for all the super common question but slowly im gettin'er done. thanks guys...

I purchased mine from crown while i was also getting my swingarm to a 260. I still have the stock lines and so far so good. When bleeding i did have to rotate the bracket to it's original position to get the gravity right. i've been very pleased with crown's kit.

it was set up as a swap and price was competitive. you can get it for less from a few more vendors, but the ease and rep crown has, i went with him.

well that's my story, have a good day.

thanks for the info.... so nobody is running the hidden caliper with stock line? im not going to do it myself as far as the bracket I will just pay and get one so i don't have to mess with it just wondering if I should just get a stainless line or not. I will read up on the adjustable one that was posted.

I'm sure some are using the stock line. Do a search on "hidden caliper" or "hidden rear caliper".

ok, so what im thinking.... If you have to bleed it off the bike then I don't need that banjo fitting? i mean the line will run there without any kinks you were just hoping to bleed it with that setup right? think im gonna just order the bracket and see. Its so hard for me to figure out as im not super in tune with this bike yet. if it was one of my other bikes everything makes sense and I know exactly what I can an can not do with stock parts. thanks for all the help. I'll post some pics in my gallery when it all done in a few weeks. have the big tire on the way and a few other little things.

just read thru all that. looks easy as can be maybe some people were just not used to bleeding brakes? I have a bike were i have a rear hand brake and sometimes its easier just to bleed everything off the bike then seal it all up and install. thanks for that I read alot about the mod. but had not come across that yet...

You only need that special fitting if you want to run the brake line on top of the swingarm as in the stock configuration. Running it on top causes the stock bleeder to be in the way thus the need to cut it off and use the new fitting. My goal was to keep the line running like stock while others don't mind the line looping below the swingarm. Its a personal preference.
