Cool - welcome to the forum.  What city are you in?  If you add your city to your profile, you'll get plenty of invites from other locals to ride.

Welcome to Warriorism. Please take the time to aquire a little book knowledge on riding techniques before running off and applying "common sense or biker folklore" to your large, powerful new toy.  Here is a useful one you might consider:

Best of luck with your new addiction.

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

    Re: and yet another newbee

I went on a 130 mi ride yesterday with a buddy of mine. Was a great ride. He has a Harley and I gave him crap all day about his down shifting. I kept asking him " why are you down shifting? cant you just give it a little gas and pass these guys?"
