How does that equate to 1/4 mile times? We only have a 1/4 mile track here and I don't really understand what is fast or slow in the 1/8th.

Do they still run the 1/4 in Oklahoma? Here in Tn. the 1/8 is the standard, cars and bikes were getting too fast and couldn't slow down enough by the end of the track so they cut it back for safety. This confuses me to as I'm more familiar with 1/4 times myself. Sounds like a good time though congrats on the loss!

Yeah, I go to the motorcycle races every month because my buddy races in two classes. There is one guy out there that ran a 6.98 in the 1/4 mile last weekend.  I don't know much about the different classes other than the ones my buddy races in. He has a turbo Busa he just started racing in a class called "real street". The fastest it has run so far is an 8.80 in the quarter but we think it will run 8.20's when he gets comfy on it. He has another one that he races in "ET Street". It runs in the 9's.

rule of thumb is to add 4 seconds to the 1/8 mile time to get the 1/4 mile time but there are drag calculators/conversions on line that will give you the 1/4 mile e.t.

Mabey this is why the guys I race with tell me Im gonna be fast when I go run at the New England dragway when I ask them what they think my bike will run, they also say I need a longer lower wheelie bar because Im wasting forward momentum  when fronts comming up,and once I do start keeping the tire on the ground I'll see what the bike can really do.Last night I strrapped the front down still comes right up so much for that.Tongue Tied

bike goes faster in the cool of the season, it must be a little fat maybe, the track is cooler and the air is good  sounds fat . but no matter what it went fast and thats great . cant ask for anything more then that,  congrats btk572

I thaught I might be running rich about  3 months ago pulled the the plugs they were perfect nice light tan and light gray at the tips I tried leaning it out and the time were slower put it back and times went back down so I left it alone and have been running 7.80s and 7.78 pretty much all summer what I really should do is have new map made as Ive tweaked the one Im using several times over the last 3yrs,but I want to get my Ignition module in before I do and have that mapped at the same time I also have a turbo sitting in the barn that needs to be installed and (if )I manage to get that on the bike this winter 7.7 and 7.8 will be an old memory.
