I've had mine on since Oct, and no problems I read some where that you HAVE to lube them twice a year.

The "Newer" Barnett Cables are Teflon Coated and do not need lubrication.

I have 9K on the stock cables with no maintenance ever. I do have a set of the Barnett sitting in the garage because I don't want to get stuck when they break.

I had Barnett make up a custom clutch cable with a straight end at the clutch lever (same as Road Star) which works out much better with my handlebars. Got the idea some time ago from Yamatized when he replaced his with a RoadStar MidNight cable.

I have almost 16,000 miles on the OEM cable and never had a second of trouble out of it. I lube it every time I change the oil.[
