Hi Tom its time to get back on the horse bro, when you have a crash it does put doubts and fears into you from time to time, and makes you question your own mortality (and the big question pops into our heads, am i to old for this shite) well i get all my old photos out and look how happy i have been on bike weekends away (and some of the guys in them photos are far far older than we are )and still having the time of there lives chilling with all the other bikers.we may now be in our second childhood so enjoy it. I had a gap a few years back when i hung up my gloves and as soon as the summer came and the bikes started roaring past me in the car i was down in the dumps wishing(and envying) to be out on a bike again, so for me it was a wrong call to hang up the gloves so i came back bigger and better and sharper as i belive you will.

It all comes down to self belief and after all your ENGLISH sir stiff upper lip and all that what what chaps.

So from me i look forward to seeing you at the ace next year

    Tom,

When I was 17 I had a really "Big off", 5 weeks in hospital, various operations and 6 months before I could walk properly again.

As soon as I could bend my legs I was back pillion on a bike. As it turned out this was not the sensible approach as a subsequent accident left me with a bent pin in my leg and the need for a further operation - hey ho.

Any kind of accident makes you stop and think. Why wouldn't it....

Get back in the saddle, see how it feels, take it easy and judge for yourself.

At the end of the day, you and only you will know if it's the right thing to do.

    Good luck mate.

What really stinks is when a guy walks away then realizes later he loves to ride and his soul is missing a chunk, but by then those pesky negative thoughts have taken root and confidence is lost.  The smart play is to get back in the saddle right away and  let the doubts fade once you grab a handful of throttle.  Go do that and I assure you later when you're all healed up and smiling again we will find ways to have some fun at your expense for even thinking such thoughts my friend!  j/k
