Sorry I can't comment on the PR2, but I do have regular Pilot Road's on my Fz1. Has about 7500 miles on it and the rear looks like it will go another 3-4 thousand. I'll be putting the same tires back on it when these wear out. Great tires, even in the wet. The last time I checked Michelin didn't offer the PR or the PR2 in a 200, so you may have to step down to a 190.  Dunlop Roadsmarts are another dual compound tire, again no 200's.

What pressure are you running in the tires?   Some actually lower the tire pressure to reduce the crown  and flatten out the profile of the tire.  Why are you getting such poor mileage?  I got almost 9k from the Avons and I rode the dog out of them .   

After a set of Azaros and two sets of Storms, I thought I was fed up with those center flat spots so I went to the Roadsmarts. To start with they were 'OK' but soon developed a high spot in the center and the soft shoulders were wearing fast. I came back from our Arizona trip, 6000 miles on the tires,  with the steel belts showing and the left shoulder of the tire BALD. Scary.....   I'm now back to Storms.  Trust me....there is NO NEED to try the Roadsmarts....I've spent the money and it's not worth it. They are cheaper than the Avons but they don't handle as well or last anywhere near as well.

I'll be very interested in this thread since the PS2s seem like a good choice but the FJR guys seem to be pointing at some issues.....

Slightly lower pressure gives a softer ride too which is great for our long trips. For running up in the Rockies though that softer tire unsettles my bike too much. Feels like it has a hinge in the middle of the bike:}  I'm on the shoulders all the time though so it's a moot point:}  I'm relearning how to turn right with my Pro-pipe  since I still have Rinehart-itis......a fear of early touchdown:}

  I'm seriously considering this. Still a little iffy about having a car tire on a bike. I've read where some members are having good results with them. I've also read somewhere that motorcycle manufacturers do not recommend car tires on bikes. Seems funny to see a car tire on a bike taking a turn and to see the tire on the edge. Kinda freaks me out.

I have read posts on many different forums about going to CT.  I have only read one post where a guy tried a car tire and did not like it.  He had it on the bike for less than 100 miles.  Virtually all other posts I have read the person is kickin himself for not making the switch sooner.  My Warrior and Wing will both b getting CTs at their next tire change.  There are folks on FJRs and ST1300s who ride the twisties hard on car tires.  I think one would be ideal for he type of riding you do.  And OBTW, I have never heard of an accident caused by a CT.

Get a speed star pipe and it will be much harder to scrape it !    Man I wish i could get out there to ride those roads.

I had the Pilot Road 190 on mine and got about 7500 miles out of it. When I replaced it this time I went with the Pilot Road dual compound and so far they have been great. I never felt uneasy in the hard turns with either tire. I also like the wider straightline contact patch with the 190 than a 200. I can't say yet how well the dual compound will wear since I only have about 1500 miles on it but so far so good. I will see how well it grips at the dragon in a couple of weeks!
