    Internally Wired bars

Looking for some bars that are internally wired. I plan on doing this mod myself but if someone is willing to part with theirs it might make my life a little easier. Let me know, thanks.

    Re: Internally Wired bars

The chances of finding bars from someone is, I would think, extremely small. I don't recall ever seeing a set for sale here. Once someone has gone to the trouble of doing the internal wiring they usually don't change to other bars.  To find a used set with the wiring would be just about impossible as that means the bike they came off of would no longer have any wiring.  I guess there may be a set out there off of a wrecked bike though.

The Lesbians living next door gave me a Timex. I think they misunderstood when I said " I wanna watch. "

I know, I've checked them out, but I don't think the black would look good on my bike as I have a lot of chrome. Thanks for the suggestion.

i wouldnt sweat it too much if you have to buy some drilled bars and wire it yourself, it's not the bad of a deal and allows you time to bond with your machine Geeked

its not that hard of a mod but its a pain in the ass. pick the set of bars you want. drill the hole (i found the info for size on google that led me to a youtube vodeo) take off your old bars. unplug the wires from inside your headlight (easier if you remove the light itself and get at it from the front) take the wires inside where you can relax (when you unplug the wires they will come all the way off)i used a fishing weight on a string to snake a light wire through the holes and then ties that to the wires and pulled them through. make sure you get them on the right side of the handlebar and you will probably have to extend the wires. pain in the ass but not hard. good luck.

I actually stared at my bike yesterday trying to picture those bars on it and then I thought about getting rid of all my chrome and going with all black which would look good with my red paint, but I'm not about to go out and by new foward controls. I need to get chrome haha

Oh and I have my aftermarket bars and risers that could go to someone looking to switch it up so they wouldn't have to go back to stock.

Yes I am quoting my quote! What of it!!!!

I will say I was a big fan of chrome, then I did come to the darkside(punn intended). I Found myself being drawn to black bars, exhaust, midnight parts,etc....

To the point that this winter I am 240'ing the rear. When I do will black gloss powder coat the rims..Oh yeah

I realize chrome is sparkly, but Black looks sooooo tough

Come join the darkside....The force is stronger on Darkside!!!!!

.....and a soldering iron, heat shrink, tape, case of beer, etc, etc.

On the serious side, I have done three of them and with a little patience, just take your it's not that big of a deal. Just make sure you won't have any distractions and triple check your work as the wrong shorted wire could cause some serious issues. But it's really not that big of a deal.

Got this bike for my wife.....Not a bad trade uh? Stick out tongue
