As much as I hate to admit it, I like mine enough to keep it on most of the time. Never thought I'd say that.

Even over 100, it's comfortable. Doesn't feel like one good bump could send me off the back. And can you say no fatigue?

I'm on my 3rd Memphis Shades windshield....in chronological order [:)]

    With Fork Mounting Clamps

    • Alley Cat-Looked great but poor coverage

    • Big Shot-Better coverage but lots of buffeting over the eyes

    • Big Shot w/RoadStar Brackets-Moved the shield over the tach, higher & closer on flatter angle. Best coverage but couldn't use when i upgraded my risers and handlebar due to interference with the cables (mainly the clutch)
    Two-Point HandleBar Mount

    • Hell Cat-Best looking of the bunch with good coverage and versatile mounting positions

Check my gallery photos for the last 3 flavors [:D]

Alan, I agree with you on the bigshot. At 6'tall I have to duck somewhat to be in the sweet spot of that shield with the standard mounts. It could stand to be a couple of inches taller.

beastevens, I like the looks of it. I have always been partial to the clean look of any bike without a windshield, but yours doesn't look bad at all. I may have to look into that.

I started off with a boulevard...........hated it. Then I went to a Memphis Shades Classic Deuce.......wasn't bad, just a little more buffeting than I cared for. Now I'm armed with the mini-fairing and absolutely love that little thing!! Kinda strange. I guess it is so rigid that there is no flex and therefore no buffeting.

How much horsepower does it take to push it through the wind? And how many miles do you lose per tank? Not worth it in my book.

Memphis Big Shots on my bike for the winter and for the long ride to Myrtle. I take it off upon arriving, leaving on the mounts (which I painted black anyway so they blend in with the bike) I'm 6'1" and get the head buffeting, but it does keep a hell-uf-a-lotta wind off the chest area.

I would think that our bodies are less aerodynamic than a curved, smooth windshield. I know I'm not as thin as I used to be.[:p] Just my .02.[:D]

Yep. There isn't a cruiser that looks respectable with a windshield. Agreed, the difference is huge, I had one on my last bike. I don't think I'll ever attach one to my warrior though, except for perhaps the yammi mini-faring.

I agree with rippin1700... You get better performance with a windshield. They're a heck of a lot more aerodynamic than a human body.
