    Donncada:

Oh yes please do put your faith in Palin for 2012.  She's half the opponent that McCain is and will be crushed.

That's exactly what I plan to do. Had a t-shirt made this year that said "I'm voting for Sarah Palin and that guy she's runnin' with!"If you're counting on Obama to crush her you'd better be prayinghe steps down after one term. He's setting the ground work for a party change in the White House in 2012. Most of the people I know that voted for him are sorry they wasted their vote.

Amen to that brother. I am a little upset that she's bailing but I am assuming that its for the best. I imagine that her and her family have been tailed by the Paparazzi since she ran for office. All I can say is it is what it is. Hope things work out for her and her family. The office of presidenct has already been screwed over by this idiot thats in office. My kids and their kids will be paying for this guys spending for the rest of their lives.

I didn't vote for McCain or Obama.  I think Obama was the better choice, but it call came down to sort of a lesser of two evils for me.  That pretty much sums up my thoughts on the past three or four elections.

I'm not pleased with Obama so far, but I can't even begin to imagine what a presidency of Sarah Palin would be like.  Probably worse than a presidency of Hillary Clinton.

I got my info about the displeasure with the job Obama's doing from people I know in the area that voted for him. Even the ones that didn't say they were sorry said they are concerned about his actions during his first 6 months.

I hope he succeeds because if he doesn't we're screwed. I hated to see the billions ($$$$) thrown at the problem.

Us, our children and our children's children will be paying this back.

He took office in one of the most difficult economic times in history.  I barely make it from paycheck to paycheck and have "zero" retirement and it's not going to get any better.  I'm also sick of hearing how  the previous administration is responsible for the mess we're in. This entire planet created the problem and we're all suffering because of it. No one person, party or country is solely responsible.

Hang on people. This is going to be a ride you won't soon forget.

She's not really my type, but I had to feel sorry for her.  It was like throwing a sheep to the wolves.  Nice idea, but you need someone a bit ....well more, if they're going to survive the parasites who play around DC.

I am pretty much a moderate, I did not see what she brought to the table besides ***.... Nice ones at that but was not impressed with her arguments or positions. Why resign with one year to go? seems funny to me.

I have no idea why she would step down, she's going to get killed with the whole she's a quitter type of thing.  I don't think she's a viable candidate for President, just too much baggage now, McCain didn't do her any favors.

the fact of the matter is, it's her life to do with as she pleases. Perhaps she has opportunity on the private sector. Maybe she thinks it's all a bunch of BS (which it is). My take on Palin is that she was thown into every elected position that she's held and even the VP position. Regular people with regular lives should not be in politics anyway. Politics is for the super egos and super freaks. Or at least it appears that way througyh my eyes

    Darth_Warrior:

alaska state law won't allow her to make money from her political exploits (such as a memoir, etc) while she's in office, and the iron isn't going to get hotter for her.  it's a self-serving move, presumably for financial and/or presidential campaign reasons...i'd feel pretty duped if i'd been an alaskan who voted for her.

    I agree.

She just ran for VP being the govenor of Alaska isn't going to help her political aspirations.  She doesn't want to get lost in Alaska she'll look to run for a senate or house seat when one is up so she can get to washington and the limelight of politics.  For now I think she will just push her cause using the donations from her supporters.  I'm still at a loss as to why anyone would give her a nickel.  She's not bright, lacks experience and now proves she's a quitter.  She says she doesn't want to be a lame duck govenor as she has already decided not to run.  Well if you don't act like a lame duck and keep pushing to do good things for your state with the support of Alaskans you won't be one.  I think her 15 mins of fame was up quite some time ago can we move on now? :)
