    Fuel Relocation Done---Look okay?

Pictures of the work and the final product. I put the regulator on the left side and the dry connect on the right side. Bought some fuel line from Auto Zone because there was not enough to make it to the new homes. In addition, I forgot to take a picture of the motor mount after it had a run in with the grinder.

Let me know if you see any issues with the setup.

    -------Edit--------
Removed pictures, because the setup was done wrong.

Looks nice and neat nitrors4, removing that left side box really shows off the Motor. I love a v Twin! I think that the only difference in the way that I did mine was to use a Fuel Connector halfway down the big hose and then ran the pipe behind the upper engine mount. Only problem with that is it's a bit fiddly to disconnect the fuel line when you want the tank off, works ok though.

Looks like you reversed the connections. Right Angle Connection to FI Manifold. InLine Connection to Aux Tank under seat. Use FI clamp for HP connection to manifold.

Good eye Alan I think you are right. I didn't even pay attetion when I did mine because I reused the stock connectors. I re routed the fuel line to the regulator so I could get the fuel line from the tank behind the motor mount. I will post pics soon, I am working on a custom right side cover that should be done in about a week.

So, what happens when you put it in the wrong way? I drove it around the block, did I screw up something?

Is a FI Clamp the same as what I have around my stacks and filter?

    Thanks for letting me know.

It's a little better than a regular hose clamp. Its basically a mini t-bolt clamp. They're @ the parts store. One of thos pinch clamps will leak for sure. FI usually runs somewhere around 40+psi

Can you route the main line back behind the motor mount like this?

Good job - I like the naked look. Routing the fuel hose from the tank where you did will prevent you from having reduced fuel capacity like I have. My hose is routed over the motor tank (under the tank) which causes me to have 1/2 gallon less fuel available.

If you wanted to change the look of the exposed hose, you could use a braided hose or I think Arlen Ness sells a chrome or stainless steel spring that fits over the hose. It changes the look and protects the hose from chafe.

I know what type of clap you are talking about now. [:D]

I wanted to run the hose behind the mount, but with the throttle linkage is right there and I was worried I would put a crimp in the line. I might look at it again in the future, but for now that is its new home. [:p]

Perhaps I will let the grinder visit the motor mount again to make room. I did go with a much thicker hose than what came stock, so if I do get some wear on the hose I will be able to tell before I spring a leak.

I am going to mount something similar to the Tornado kit on both sides of my bike. I just need to get busy and make up some.

Oh, I also pushed the houses all the way onto the fpr to help hold them. How much pressure is passing through the hose?

BTW, Thank you all for your help and special thanks for catching that I had the fpr on wrong.

    Re: Fuel Relocation Done---Look okay?

Use 5/16"~ID Fuel Injection Hose for the HP connection @ the FPR. It's rated for the higher pressure and has a heavier wall thickness.
Do not use the one pc OEM spring clamp for this connection IMHO unless you have zero deduct on your MC insurance for fire [;)]
    • The nominal fuel pressure at the FPR HP connection is 47~psi
    • Fuel Injection hose clamps are designed to provide uniform sealing pressure on fuel injection hoses. They feature non-perforated rolled edge bands with a special nut and bolt tightening design. They are not the same type of clamp used on the V_BAK
    • Read this Thread:http://www.rswarrior.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=32523&SearchTerms=fpr
    • BTW, with the FPR connections reversed full system FP pressure will be seen momentarily at the injectors which ranges from 56 ~ 84 psi. No bueno for the FP, etc! [V]

    Re: Fuel Relocation Done---Look okay?

Well, I will buy the correct connections tomorrow, but the good news I guess is I road 160 miles today on the setup I have right now. [:p] It should be raining tomorrow, so I plan on moving the external hose inside my engine mount and replace all my clamps with the FI ones. In addition, I am going to use the quick connect like you did.

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!![:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

I fixed everything today. I will try to get some pictures tomorrow.

I cut the stock dry connectors, added in 5/16 hose and the FI clamps. Worked great! I also move the fuel line inside the engine mount. Much cleaner. :)
