    Lowering question from a noobie

Hello everyone. I'm somewhat of a new rider (2years). My first bike was a Road Star 1600. Loved the comfort on the long rides, but it's just an old man bike to me. Not a shot to anyone old in here. Lol. Sold the Road Star and found an 04' Warrior with 900 miles for $7000. A steal! God I love this thing!  I can't stay off of it. It's got the comfort of a cruiser for the most part with an insane amount of power. FAST! My question to all of you is if there is any way to lower the bike without buying a kit? I only need about an inch to where my feet would be flat on the ground. I know I could get a different seat or buy thicker soled boots, but why buy parts or excessories if I don't have to. I have all kinds of ways to mod this thing the way I want it, but don't have the funds. Piece by piece my friends. When I bought it the previous owner had put on a sissy bar and luggage rack and different passenger pegs. I know that sounds strange about the sissy bar, but it looks like it belongs there. Since I got it I added a windshield. Originally I was against the shield, but for the long 3 day 1500 mile trips through God's country it's a must. I've seen dogs smaller than some the bugs that we run into. I'll get some pictures for everyone to view when I get a chance. But first, I'd really appreciate some feedback on lowering this beauty. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Ride on....

Do a search for FNG or Flip n Grind. Lots of info on this. It will lower the back about 1.75 inches and its FREE.

for what you want as far as lowering the bike i would copy the 2 outer strut bars and make the holes about 1/4 of an inch farther apart that will drop the bike about 1 1/4 inches and you can do it with just 2 pieces of steel (cold rolled) a drill and your basic hand tools thats the cheapest and easiest way to lower the back ,for the front loosen the outer tripple tree bolts one side at a time and twist the fork tube it will move up and then measure the distance after tightening the bolts then do the same to the other side matching the measured drop on each fork tube. good luck,btk572
