    Tinted tail light!!!!! updated pics

Ok so a friend of mine got me a can of some paint called night shades by VHT that is only for tinting lights. Ordered it online. I was iffy but I must say that I am very pleased I got a few pics but it is dark out and ya. will get more tomarow in the day light but it looks great. I gave it about 3 coats of paint let it dry and then wet sanded it with 2000 grit and then waxed it. Looks like it was made that way and smooth as ever maby even smoother than stock.

I checked a web site that sells it. This is what they said about it "Create a custom look. VHT's Nite Shades coating is a transparent black taillight lens coating for creating a custom look. When applied to taillights, fog lights, or turn indicators, VHT Nite Shades appears black--until the lights are lit. Then the natural color appears; red, in the case of taillights. It's recommended for off-road use only, as it may not be legal in some areas." I'm not sure if i would get pulled over for it. Looks great and good luck with it.

I've thought about that a bunch but have never seen it. Nice mod man.

Don't touch that please, your primitive intellect wouldn't understand alloys and compositions and things with... molecular structures.

what's the benefit?   ....I don't really see what changed.  (maybe it's just the picture quality)

if you put it side by side with one that is not sprayed, you'd see the obvious differance is one will look "smoked", the other will look white/clearish.

I used that stuff on my truck tails a few years ago, it still looks just as good as it did then. I don't think I'll use it on the bike although yours looks great.

That is really cool! A small, but cool mod!

I just might borrow this idea, and do it on my car, and maybe even the bike!

+1   I ordered the smoked front turn signal lenses for the same effect (if they ever come!)

I did that on my car years ago.Good cheap mod. The only time anyone will know your light is done is when the bike is off.

Yep been using it on many cars over the years. The young kids (tuners) that rice out their rides have been using it for years as well. Very kewl product. Just gotta be carefull of applying TOO much. Cause it will dim the stop lights as well at that point.

As for the bike, I've added lights to my rear to make sure I am seen at night. I wouldnt do anything to possibly make me less visable.
