I'm still here.  Haven't been riding as much due to looking for job and all the rain.  I've been to the Vortex on Thursday bike night several times this year and was the only warrior there.  We need to plan a local day ride/meet sometime. WF would be fun, but can't commit the time and $$ for it now.

I know the voices aren't real, but they do have some good ideas.

Anyone interested in meeting at the Vortex at little five points on Thursday evening?  It is a classy joint, as long as you like good food, cold drinks, tattoos (required for waitresses I think), loud music, and of course bikes.  Should be a 200+ bikes now that the weather has warmed up.

This Thursday (4/16)? I could do that... Anyone else game? Eric... 10th set eh! Damn, I'm at 6k miles about to do the first set my bike has ever had aside from the factory tires. What kind of tires you rollin now? Still on the Metzlers? I'm thinking Sport Touring, Dunlop D220 in stock sizes. Since you have went through 10 sets, what has been your favorite? Still on the stock belt?

Believe it or not the belt is the original!...I love the metzlers..everybody says there too hard but I have absolutely no problem running what little bit of frame I have left into the pavement! The D-220's are really sticky but if your an avid mark leaver....you wont leave but about 4 before its time for a new set!!Devil

Didn't you say the with the Metzler you can get a 205 on the back? You still working it that way or did you drop back to a 200? So what your saying is... if I'm gonna ride more in the twisties the D220s are a good tire and sticky. But... If I like to leave black marks from time to time and do a lot of highway riding the Metzlers will do me better? Did you go with the ME 880 XXL on the back?

Or was it a 210 you got on the stock wheel?

You're shopping at the wrong places.  I got my last AVON rear mounted and balance for around $190.00  Total.  Metz may be a little more but Dang  $250 more???

Hopefully I will make it.  I was just given 4 free Braves tickets to the game tomorrow afternoon (12:10) along with a parking pass.  Since I'm not working yet, can't let the freebies get by me.  I haven't asked the wife for a pass, as she is not a big fan of the Vortex and doesn't care if I go or not.

Weather permitting, I am definitely game for next Thursday at the Vortex (4/23). I found this great tire place, haven't had the work done by them yet but I'm getting warm fuzzies from the phone call I had with the owner. Their business model is basically a tire shop, and to offer the best pricing and labor than any other bike shop being that they only do tires and oil changes. The even better part is it's owned by two brothers, and the dood told me something no other Yamaha dealer has told me yet... actually two things... We'll treat your bike as if it's our own, and he said he can't promise he won't scratch my black wheels but if he does he'll replace my wheel. He said his machine is for high end wheels and although he can't promise since it did crush a guys wheel once that it won't damage my wheel but he will make it right if it does. Check em out: www.twobrotherstires.com I am getting new tires this weekend or next week, will update you guys how it went. Not sure about the rest of you but finding a good mechanic, being that I'm not one, has been the hardest part for me and my bikes. I've had work done at Mountain Adventures on my Vstar, they scratched the front fender, told me it was there when they inspected the bike prior, and when i got home I realized I was missing two screws out of the air filter cover. Rode it from Conyers to downtown Atlanta with one freakin screw in the cover, and it was a phillips and not a allen head bolt. Called them about it when I got home, they again told me in a pre bike inspection those screws were missing. I had pictures from 2 days prior listing my bike on Craigslist and guess what, the screws were all in the air filter cover. I had a new grips put on at Metro Cycles and drove away and not 20 miles down the road the fukin thing came off.... Guess I should try more work myself but I would rather pay someone that will do it right. When I have time for my bike I want to ride it, not work on it. Tires, I would never try to do myself. Chris
