Have any of you guys gone in for the 16k service? Looks like I can do most myself. Just not comfy doing the valve adjustment or repacking bearings. Actually, repacking the bearings sounds strange to me. Never had a problem with stearing or the pivot joint. Just wondering if its worth the cost...not even sure what that is just what folks have posted on here.
What do you think?
Coming from many years of dirt biking, bearing re-packing and packing is vital to ensure a long life of trouble free riding. While you have not had any issues up to this point, it is recommended to get the old grease out and get some fresh grease in. I am sure there are many people out there who will brag about X miles and they haven't repacked their bearings - but why take the chance?
Not sure on the valves, but after working on a new 450cc 4-stroke motocross bike (55+ hp), I am guessing the Warrior will be a walk in the part considering the valve train is from the 1950's LOL!!
I check my wheel bearings every time they're off the bike, which is often on a Warrior.
I haven't regreased them, I know, naughty.
What's to do on the valves
They have hydraulic lifters-no adjustments unless you change the pushrods or do some other major work.
As for the steering and swing arm, the thing that kills these bearings is a pressure washer, and time. If your bike is 5 years old, or you spray out every nook and cranny, I would check them.
