Have any of you guys gone in for the 16k service? Looks like I can do most myself. Just not comfy doing the valve adjustment or repacking bearings. Actually, repacking the bearings sounds strange to me. Never had a problem with stearing or the pivot joint. Just wondering if its worth the cost...not even sure what that is just what folks have posted on here.

    What do you think?

Coming from many years of dirt biking, bearing re-packing and packing is vital to ensure a long life of trouble free riding.  While you have not had any issues up to this point, it is recommended to get the old grease out and get some fresh grease in.  I am sure there are many people out there who will brag about X miles and they haven't repacked their bearings - but why take the chance?

Not sure on the valves, but after working on a new 450cc 4-stroke motocross bike (55+ hp), I am guessing the Warrior will be a walk in the part considering the valve train is from the 1950's LOL!!

I check my wheel bearings every time they're off the bike, which is often on a Warrior. Big Smile I haven't regreased them, I know, naughty.Devil  What's to do on the valvesHmm  They have hydraulic lifters-no adjustments unless you change the pushrods or do some other major work.Yes  As for the steering and swing arm, the thing that kills these bearings is a pressure washer, and time.  If your bike is 5 years old, or you spray out every nook and cranny, I would check them.Angel

Thanks for the info guys. I have never gone after every nook and cranny with a pressure wash. So I bet I am good there but I do ride and the bike is 5 years old. Maybe I'll take it in and have them check the items I am not comfy doing myself before putting her to bed this winter.

Anyone got a spring compression tool I can borrow? I wanna change my spring and put the lowering links on. Let me know.

If you can read, and know righty-tighty, lefty-loosey, you can do it all yourself.   You can borrow my shop manual if you want.

I used to have a spring compressor for the old twin shocks.  I'll try to find it, it might work for a single shock.  I do have spring compressors for car springs.....maybe a little large.

Thanks TJ...Let me know. I am gonna check to see if Autozone has one I can rent from them. I've read on here that some places will do that. Heck for all the effort I am going to, I should just buy the damn thing and be done with it.

Eric, I load mined into my photobucket account then copy the URL right beneath each picture and paste it into your post and it will show up.

    Dan and Johnthan,

Do you know if ClearAlternatives replaces tail lights that have gone funky. Mine only lights up half way. I am torn between doing something different all together, cracking it open and seeing what might need to be resodered, or if they replace them doing that. Let me know your thoughts.

If it has been longer than a year you have to contact Clear Alternatives.  Let me know what they say and we can figure out what we want to do!

Remember that government spends money only by taking that money out of the private economy. Put another way, when government taxes a dollar to “create” a job, it has taken a dollar out of the private economy that is no longer available to the private economy.

Yes they replace them when you mail them in for free. Mine too is only lighting up halfway again so mine will be going in again soon.  Honestly it doesn't bother me to send it in since i still have the stock one during the down time.
