mobil 1 is a good choice.  I would say most guys use mobil 1 or amsoil

If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the precipitate

Mobil 1 V-Twin is good stuff.  On the back rest question, are you talking about for yourself or a second rider?  If you are going to be riding 2 up a lot, check into a passenger peg relocate kit and a 1000 lb spring.  It might help if you let us know what year your bike is as the seats are different for early years.  Also, welcome to the 4M, but hide your credit card as there is so much you can do to these bikes you can bo broke quick.

I know the voices aren't real, but they do have some good ideas.

Mobil 1 Vtwin is a fine product, almost as good as AmsoilSmile.  There is much to be learned here, search often and post your questions up at will.  Welcome.

Welcome aboard!  The search function is so powerful it'll return hundreds of hits.  But read as much as you can because everyone comes away with different questions after a search.  It gets us to the next level, know what I mean?

Re: I'm a newbie with tons of ????

first off welcome to the 4m. ive had women of all hights on my bike and even the shortest being 4 ft 11 inches said the pegs were kinda high so i droped them and twisted the pegs forward for rear peg standup wheelies. I didnt like the stylings and prices of some of the sissy bars so i decided to make my own and i shure am glad i did i like it more on the bike than with out it on now and their is no big lumpy pad i made a detatchable pad for long double up trips but even after 10 hrs on a bike its not needed cause the bars are comfy w/ the vibrations or so im told. as for the oil i use amsoil in my bike thats just my preference.
