The Warrior is getting old...where's the new one?

Does anyone here know of or heard of any upcoming revision to our beloved Warrior?

I still love it but i'm just thinking it's time for a face lift, maybe a tummy tuck and augmented hooters.  Too much Dr. 90210, I know.  But seriously, I'm looking to get a NEW bike and I'm getting the feeling if I get a new Warrior next year will be an all new bike.

     Any thoughts/feedback?

Yup, 240 rear tire, 2000ci motor, 6 speed tranny.

    But Seriously

Yamaha has drastically changed only one bike that I am aware of and it took more than 20 years. The only change they will make to the Warrior is to discontinue it. Don't wait on a new one.

I was afraid I'd hear that.

Is the Warrior just a 5 speed?  What's a comfortable cruising speed on the freeway?  Thats been my compliant on Harleys over the years, is that with the fast paced traffic on the freeway (I commute) you have to wring it's neck to keep up.  How does the Warrior compare?

5 gears with a rev limit of about 5k. I usually cruise around 80mph (about 3k revs) so theres still plenty of grunt left to pass and such. max = 135mph @ 5k revs in 5th gear.

Can you dig it? ...CAN You Dig it? ... CAAAAN YOOUU DIIIIG IIIIIITT!?!?!?!??!?!

I have to agree.  They are not showing an '09 on the Star website.  All the other models are listed though.  My local dealer, never even stocked an '08.  He had a couple of '06's sit around for 2 years.  The Raider is sold as soon as it hits the floor, or quicker.

I think the end is near.

Gay!  The Raider is too chopperish.  I just want a Warrior with updated styling and a 6 speed.  Plus rocket assist and a machine gun on the front fender.

Anything up to 90 on mine is comfortable. I pick up a pretty good vibration in the seat and pegs if I spend much time over that.

I have also heard that there is NOT going to be a '09 model. I think that the Raider was brought on to replace the Warrior :(

wonder were that road goes...and how fast I can get there.

+1. The Raider is the new Yamaha "legend". That's why I went and purchased my 2003 Warrior. Wink
I saved $7,000 (compared to Raider)... plus there are a ton of custom parts for Warrior. It will take time until the Rider will be available at a decent price.

Either ways, I love my Warrior. It is a damn lean and mean machine.
Plus, you can always go with a smaller pulley, if you want to drop the RPM's a little more...

2003 Night Demon - pics will come soon... working on mods.
