Hey that's unfair, I tell her what to do and how to do it.  I say "Woman, go make me a pot pie, or I'll..."  Oh wait she's coming, gotta go.

Dude, after those pictures of the scooter went public there's only one thing you can do.  BUY MY GIXXER.  It can do things the FJR could never dream of!  I've already put the mods on it that you'd want.  My loss is your gain, blah blah blah etc, etc.  Wheelie at 100 mph?  Got you covered, my bruthah!  THIS BIKE SCREAMS.  Of course if you're not man enough to handle the Gix-ta-nater then I guess I understand...  Stick out tongue  C'mon now, someone buy my bike so that I don't have to trade it in at a Harley dealership!?!?  Smile

Please tell me your not trading it in on a Harley...  Not when there are perfectly good Warriors for sale.

I have both bikes and the FJR is a great bike. You cannot go wrong if you get one. If you buy one get an 07 or newer, the prior models had heat problems. The warrior is great but a totally different bike from the FJR. It is not even fair to compare the too.

I looked at the FJR this spring and really wanted one. Didn't like the trade they offered or the thought of taking a second loan on so I bought a 1999 Suzuki Bandit 1200.  Great for touring around, blasting the back roads, just fun to ride a different bike. The best part is it was a steal at $2250.00 Find something like that and you can have the best of both worlds. Or you could sell the Warrior and buy a new FJR, couldn't blame you either way.

I'm in the same boat. I really like the FJR but I really like my Warrior too. The FJR is more practical but the Warrior is more sexy. Driving me up the wall. I've seriously thought about getting an FJR while keeping the Warrior but two bikes is just too much for me. I can see it coming already; I'll put the speed* kit in the Warrior then get a serious itch to throw caution to the wind and pick up the FJR...just like I've done in the past putting tires on vehicles. Damn if I don't put new tires on a vehicle then go off and sell it for a new ride. Automobile

I found a great FJR Forum BTW which doesn't help my issues.Angry

Im lucky enough to have a few bikes ...

     Warrior - V Strom 1000 - Triumph Sprint ST

My wife has a Vstrom 650 and a Katana 600 (i hate that bike but she loves it **shrug**)

If I could only have one bike .... Man I would hate it ... but I would prolly go with the Vstrom ... can do just about anything .... and with no luggage on I can keep up with just about anything in the twisties.  While I don't share you affection for inline 4s ... Vtwins are my style ... I do get that itch OFTEN to blast around the lake and the Triumph takes care of me just great.  I used to wad myself (6'4 250) onto sportbikes but they always killed my back.  The sport Tourers are a bit more relaxed and comfy and still hustle through the corners just fine.  I miss my CBR 900RR and my Aprilia RSV Mille but I don't miss the back pain.  My V Strom is by far the most comfy bike I have ever owned.  I can log 500 to 700 miles a day easy for a few weeks and not get worn out.

I will admit the FJR is a sweet ride ... If I was a one bike owner that was all street riding - the FJR would be on the short list.  I live in BFE North Idaho so I end up exploring a lot of dirt - hence my Strom.

Well I Test rode one on Sat.  It was smooth, I tried the auto clutch thing also and that was a definate no go.  It really annoyed me.  I need a clutch.

The bike was great, comfortable and quick.  I hate to say it but the Warrior has to go...  I'll probably regret it later but right now I have to have the FJR!

"I can't decide if I should sell the touring stuff (Hard bags, windshield, floorboards, sissy bar) separately or all together though? Any thoughts?"

Try selling them individually right here on the site.   Give your pals a first crack at 'em!

guess I'm just lucky... I love the warrior(had it for almost 6 years) Santa brought me a C14 last Christmas. Took a trip to the Grandcanyon to see how I liked it(5000+ miles) and to make sure I went on a mountain carving trip to Tn, Nc, Va and Ga(including the Dragon) I don't  just like it "I love it". So if you're considering a sport tourer, don't buy without riding the Connie.

Someone else told me that yesterday about the Connie.  I just figured from reviews that it was the least comfortable of the sport tourers.  But if lightning strikes twice maybe I should go check one out.  Thanks!

I was at the dealership yesterday getting my 280 mounted and as looking at the FJR. Very nice ride. It is interesting to see how much tech Yamaha borrowed from BMW. Heated grips, adjustable windscreen ect.... Very nice bike though. If I was going to start touring the country I could see myself on one.

I too was once a sport bike guy.  I had an 04 Honda CBR600RR.  Bad ass bike.  Fast as hell.  But I will never go back to sport bikes ever again.  The cops follow you around wherever you go just watching and waiting for you to make a mistake so they can write you a ticket.  When I had my CBR I was always followed.  I also was pulled over 4 different times at night and given a sobriety test even though I had nothing to drink.  The insurance also cost me $1200 a year with a clean driving record.  But then again, I was 22 years old back then.  Oh yeah, and I also got a ticket for doing 106mph in a 65mph zone by a crooked lying cop.  I ended up winning that in court, but it was a big hassle.  Sport bikes arn't worth the hassle.  There are too many stupid kids on them that ruin it for everybody else.

Re: Another Victim of the FJR Syndrome...

We all love riding and we all agree that the Warrior is THE BEAST; however, it is not the be all and end all.

I am also interested in adding a bike to the stable and had been hung up on the FJR. I met a guy at the local dealership that owned two FJRs and swore by them(with over 30K miles between the two) bought the 08 Concourse and LOVES it. Better than the FJR he said.

Another guy at the Killington Classic said the same thing!...Im leaning!Cool
