i switched to a metzeler 210 rear and it's already "crowning" [i think that's the term] after only 3500 miles. the contact patch kind of flattens out and goes bald and it ends up with a bald flat ridge right down the center of the tire. i can feel it while cornering because the tire is no longer round but kind of squared off. can't decide whether to get another one and really keep a close watch on the psi, or just go back to the 200. i might switch to avon also. anyone else had problems with the 210? my front metzeler 120 is okay this time with no cupping at all.
That is what the 210 does. It really doesn't fit the rim properly. Go to a 200, I've got an Avon and it has already outlasted the last Dunlop I got.
3500 that's about all you'll get from a 210.
Go back to a 210 200 or go up to 240 and you'll get alot better mileage.
Don't know what psi you run, but between 38 and 42 is a good pressure.
I agree with what everone else has said on the Metz 210. The Metz is a softer compound - better for sticking in the corners. Go with Dunlop, Bridgestone or Avon if you want more mileage. Although the 240 Metz gets great mileage.
Dave, I found this for you on the forum! I actually saw a warrior in Northcal at Frankinstein's Monster Garage nite with a car tire! Dont recall who it was though!

Re: Installed a 225 45/17 Car Tire coool!
fast7:Here are the pictures. I dont have any of the install but it was easy to fit it in there. I am running 32lbs pressure so it will bulge the center out just a bit. Drove it again today. Getting used to the handling is the big part.Insert Image:88.84 KBInsert Image:79.94 KBInsert Image:73.03 KB

I too agree with 357 but if you can afford it, go with the 240. I got 9600 miles out of my last 240 Metzler 880.

I run a 210 and get about 4k out of them. I just picked up a 280 kit and am waiting for this last 210 to wear out before i switch it out. I am curious how those car tires handle and stick. Could anyone describe how they feel?
