The bumpers on brand new Corbins are really firm until broken in.  Sit on it.  If that doesn't work, then put all your weight on the front part of the seat...  slightly coming off the seat and drop on the seat.  Just be warned, that as hard a time as you have putting on the seat, it will be 10 times harder to remove.  Of course once it's broken in, you won't have to worry about it at all.

What he said.  Don't break your key when taking it back off, just remember you'll need to be sitting on it again to unlatch it.

Dropping hard on the seat a few times seems to have worked Wink . Thanks !

Does the seat fit with the toolkit inside?

Yes it fits with the toolkit installed. One other thing I'd like to recommend. On your fender you'll notice some clear plastic squares stuck to it. those are spots where the stock seat pads rested. they protect your paint. I'd suggest you purchase some of those and place them where the Corbin pads rest on the fender.

    God first . . . . . . . . always!

You might take a couple 1/4" flatwashers and put them under the lock tab at the front, then re-attach it.  Just unbolt it from the seat pan and add them one at a time to each through-bolt...trial and error always gets the job done. Big Smile

Great idea by Alan, but after a few weeks, it should latch normally. I would just make sure you have to do whatever you need to do under the seat (like check your oil, etc), then leave it on for a few weeks- should be good by then.

I hear that Corbin seats are very comfortable. What makes them so, gel inserts or special foam?

a lot of seats are real soft and spongy therefore not giving any real support, the corbins are a little more firmer. some people confuse this with being hard and therefore believe that a hard seat can not possibly be comfortable however the opposite is true, the corbins being some what firm actually offer "support"and "support" is actually what your a$$ needs to feel better after a long ride Yes

Been riding around a bit in them and they are way more comfortable than stock. I couldn't do long trips with the stock ones.

I believe the shape has something to do with it also.  There was a thread about this not too long ago with some simple drawings showing how the shape helps with the support also.  For me, since I don't do long rides, it's mainly just the difference in looks and style that is the attraction but, yes, most people agree that they are much more comfortable then stock.

Hopefully your seat arrived to match the model year of your bike (2004 or newer).  Notice if the latch hoop actually lines-up with its counterpart latching mechanism.  If not then the Corbin could be for a pre-04 Warrior and it would not be the first time Corbin made this error.  Assuming its the right model year seat, +1 with the above.
