Help on how to buy things from US then shipped to AUS

I am having a nearly impossibe time at the moment trying to get parts for my bike in Australia.

    http://www.jpcycles.com/

    http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/

    http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/

All 3 companies dont seem particularly interested in helping me, I guess because Australia is a long way to ship, but those three companies were either suggested by people I know personally or from the forums, so I thought I would have some success. None of them have been rude or anything like that, I just barely get answers to emails and they cant provide shipping costs. One of them doesnt even have Australia as a country on their system, so I cant order anything through them without going through email.

Im looking for various minor parts but also including mirrors, pegs, and an exhaust. I have a Midnight Warrior so anything chrome is out of the question.

Can anyone help me or suggest a company that wants to do business with someone in Australia ?

PS: Trying to find a supplier for the tailgunner exhaust in Aus was comical to say the least.

IF you want you can order the parts, pay for them & have them shipped to me in Tennessee. I will forward them to you & rebox if necessary. I ship internationally all the time with USPS Global Express. You can check on international shipping rates here: www.usps.com

You can pay me for the international shipping costs using Paypal.

No charge for handling it for you. I go to the shipper all the time. Its just a mater of relabeling the package & filling out a customs form.

    G'Day mate,

I've had great success dealing with this sites major sponsor www.motorsportssuperstore.com. My last order arrived in 10 days from when I placed it online. They always supply tracking numbers and confirmation emails. Check out the online catalogues they deal with Kuryakyn and several other aftermarket suppliers.

I've also had good dealings with Matt at Peformance Edge.

     Hope this helps.

I have to agree with ozwarrior (re: motorsportstore). Recieved a parcel from them 2 weeks ago. It took them 3 weeks to get all the items and approx 9 days shipping. They responded to all my emails.

    Good luck

Thanks to all that replied. Im going to have a good look through that site see what bits and peices they offer. One of the companies I mentioned did get back to me and are willing to help so I am hoping they can get some stuff to me at a cheaper shipping price.

Churchkey, appreciate your offer, if I run into brick walls I think ill take you up on it. Im just worried about huge shipping costs at the moment (because im not a company).

What I was trying to achieve is to go through a company that shipped to Australia (even if its only once a month), hoping that they would ship at a cheaper price through because of bulk shipments. Getting an individual item weighing 50lbs and up is costs more to ship than the items.

    Thanks everyone

I've come in late to this but I've not had any issues getting anything from cruiser customising. Very reliable and even emailed me when there was delay.

Sorry Scott. I missed this one.

I bought the chin cowl. Also bought some parts for my other toy (01' FZ1).

    Hey Laurie,

I feel your pain bro. All I want to do is order a set of forward controls, Phats cant give me a price that includes shipping???  The money is burning a hole in my pocket, just give me a price and I will send you the cash, is it just me? or that is very simple?

    Cheers

     Fuz

Re: Help on how to buy things from US then shipped to AUS

I have had a fair number of parts shipped from the US in the last 9 months.

They are always pretty expensive to get shipped, and they are all pretty cautious about shipping down under.

I have had a couple of shipments from Phats, and the email response is great, follow up/shipping out is average/poor. Did receive everything, but took a lot longer than neccessary.

RSWarrior members have all been great, and very speedy 100% to all. (Mavrik, GC1Warrior etc) Superstore was spot on, so no real problems, but freight is always the most painful bit with everybody.

Fuz, what forwards are you after ? The freight cant be that much of a problem, they worked it out for me straight away.

Thanks to all those who replied. I havent spent much time on the board recently, been too busy at work and busy at home buying a house.

JPcycles proved to be good, they were quick at delivery and all the parts work perfectly. I got a rain cover which has helped a great deal. I dunno about the rest of you guys but I still have water in my seat. I got a 115db horn which is fantastic, certainly stops people in their tracks.

Phat performance didnt have sydney as a delivery location, so ive given up on them for the time being. Hunting around for an exhaust ive decided to make my own. Ordering something from the US for $1000, then having it resprayed, without knowing how it sounds is a really stupid idea so ive given up.

Fuz, I think I know the forward controls youre talking about, and they are nice. expensive but nice, would love some myself.

Oh and one last thing, I asked Yamaha about the Stage IV kit, and they still sell it, but its about $4K.
