Warrior of the Month

Trend setting, ground breaking, innovative, and just plain sick Roadstar Warrior's

This beautiful blue Warrior that you see before you is not so much the outcome of a single winter project but has been more of an evolution over the last four years.  Some members like to mod their bike for speed & handling and some for stunning looks, but very few have managed to achieve both - except for DarkStar who has accomplished this with a whole host of performance enhancing engine mods, eye catching paint from tip to toe and a bag full of chrome and creative modifications.

DarkStar’s monster is powered by an Orient Express 108ci big bore (that’s 1775cc for us metric types) and has HC pistons, +2 valves, custom ported & polished heads & manifold, Carillio adjustable pushrods, Speedstar cams, springs & ECU and a mountain of other performance improvements such as Barnett clutch & springs, VBAK and PCIII with custom mapping.  Cooling is aided by a Pro-One oil cooler with gauge and a quality ignition spark derives from a very distinctive pair of red Dyna high performance coils & leads relocated to the left side of the engine.

Aside of what’s under the hood, this Warrior is a real head turner and rightly so as DarkStar has an eye for detail.  Legends forward controls, an 8½ in rear rim with 240 rubber, chromed wheels, Carlini bars and a careful selection of chrome covers and accents all tie in perfectly with the unique paint scheme.  In Feb 2006, with the help of his two very good friends Warstar & Bluebruce, DarkStar undertook a complete teardown of his Warrior in order to paint the tins, frame, swingarm, forks, lower cowl & tach cover.  Ron used a House of Kolor candy metallic cobalt blue over a black basecoat and as you can all see, the end result is just truly staggering.  The experienced application of the clear coat and polishing has produced a final finish that actually makes the paint look permanently wet!

“Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile”, and I’m sure that’s exactly what DarkStar did when he was voted ‘Warrior of the Month’ at the end of May by his fellow members. As many of you will know, DarkStar is not only one of our resident hard working Moderators - lovingly referred to as ‘The Enforcer’ - but has been one of the pioneers as far as Warrior modifications are concerned, so this award is justly deserved in more than one department.  After entering his first competition he wiped the board with a win for ‘Peoples Choice, Best in Show’ and I am convinced that there could be many more wins if he so desired.  Many congratulations Ed.
